The linear feedback precipitation model (LFPM 1.0) – a simple and efficient model for orographic precipitation in the context of landform evolution modeling

چکیده

Abstract. The influence of climate on landform evolution has attracted great interest over the past decades. While many studies aim at determining erosion rates or parameters models, feedbacks between tectonics, climate, and have been discussed but addressed quantitatively only in a few modeling studies. One problems this field is that coupling large-scale model with regional would dramatically increase theoretical numerical complexity. Only simple models made available so far allow efficient topography-controlled precipitation erosion. This paper fills gap by introducing quite approach involving two vertically integrated moisture components (vapor cloud water). interaction linear depends altitude. structure principle simplest able to predict both orographic small scales decrease continental areas without additional assumptions. Even combination transversal dispersion elevation-dependent evapotranspiration, time complexity increases computing effort moderately. Simple experiments applying such coupled show strong impact spatial gradients mountain range geometry including steepness peak elevation, position principal drainage divide, network properties.

investigating the feasibility of a proposed model for geometric design of deployable arch structures

deployable scissor type structures are composed of the so-called scissor-like elements (sles), which are connected to each other at an intermediate point through a pivotal connection and allow them to be folded into a compact bundle for storage or transport. several sles are connected to each other in order to form units with regular polygonal plan views. the sides and radii of the polygons are...
